Message From Mike Moberley, Chairman Republican Party of Citrus County

It is now just over 30 days until election day—November 8, 2016! A monumental day for republicans and our candidates at the national, state and local level. Absentee ballots are now in the mail from our local Supervisor of Elections, and so it begins. Below are some key dates:

Oct 17—Citrus County Chronicle’s Local Political Forum will take place at College of Central FL @ 6:00 pm
Oct 18—Last Day to Register or Change Registration to Vote
Oct 24—Early Voting Begins
Our headquarters on SR 44 by Meadowcrest will remain open through election day.

Republican turnout is vital to the future of our county, state and nation. Never has the future of our country hung so in the balance. Up to 5 Supreme Court Justices appointment could be made by our next president. We cannot allow that to fall into the hands of Hillary Clinton. Our candidate Donald Trump offers our nation a perspective outside of government as usual and a real chance to “Make America Great Again”. He and Mike Pence are our only hope to back away from the precipice where we now stand. We can’t afford another 4 years of liberal policies destroying our country before our very eyes. I urge you to talk to everyone you know, everywhere you go, and wherever you gather. WE MUST RALLY AS NEVER BEFORE. Citrus County has a strong record of voter participation, but let’s make this a year when we break all records.

To our local party members, be advised there will be NO regular November meeting as normally held on the 1st Monday at the Realtors Association. We will instead gather to celebrate together in Inverness on election night beginning at 7:00p pm as the polls close at:
Angelotti’s Pizza, 130 Heights Ave., Inverness, FL 34452 (342-419-6550)
(Hors D’oeuvres/Snacks and nonalcoholic beverages provided. Other food and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase)

December will be my last meeting as your chairman. I want to thank you all for the support over these last few years. I ask you to give the next chairman even more support going forward. It has been my honor to serve the Party and I am not going away. Instead I will assume a new hat as the Citrus Co. State Committeeman, as Bob Hagaman retires. The December meeting will be very important to our local party as elections of officers, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer will take place. Our work does not end with each election, it begins anew as we look ahead to the governor’s race in 2018 and other midterm elections. Please stay involved if you already are or get involved if you’re new to the REC or thinking about joining. We welcome your participation. Thank you for all your hard work.

Citrus County Republicans Believe:

That our environment should be protected for future generations.

That less government that is efficient fosters an environment for individual growth.

That the strength of our nation lies with the freedom of individual initiative, rather than the burden of government intervention and regulation.

In a strong national defense. We are proud that members of our military have defended our freedom and the freedom of others.
